A long time ago I stumbled across an amazing videographer on Vimeo. His name was Marco Aslan and he captured life’s everyday moments in such a subtle and introspective way on camera that it made everything seem so beautiful.
Fast forward about 6 months and I finally get the “why-the-fuck-not?” attitude and reach out and contact him. Turns out he’s a really genuine guy who shares a lot of the same taste in movies and music as I do, and he has a really open attitude to the possibility of collaborating with us.
Trying not to come off as too creepy or put pressure on him, I offer to write him some tracks and IF he likes them and gets some spare time, he’d put it to some pictures. Turns out he found that spare time and got a chance to do it.
So now the song has life in a video. The two are married and we wouldn’t have it any other way. This is somewhere between a music video and a video with music, if that makes any sense. It sits nicely on Vimeo, a community where visual art gets a lot of the respect it deserves and people go to check out compelling pieces of work, rather than tv episodes, or vlogs shot on someone’s shitty webcam.
Anyway, check it. We love it and we hope you do too.
I'm out east with another band right now, my amazing friends The Zolas. Had a day off in Toronto today so I got a chance to post a quick little update of what Names has been doing.
What have we been doing? Write. Record. Repeat.
Nothin' but.
It's actually a lot of fun and if I could do only that for the rest of my life I'd probably still be happy as a clam.
My partner in crime, Konrad (known mostly for his involvement with Old Money) and I went in on a doooope new toy. I can't get enough of this thing.
A while back we did a remix for our friends in Acres of Lions. Go here to download it for free. Please go and check them out as well. They're a rad group.
Keeping up to Speed
